BTS Chit Lom sits in Langsuan–Ratchadamri–Ploenchit, the area we work around Lumphini Park, Central Embassy and the Ratchaprasong shopping district. The Skytrain runs above the traffic, so a pickup window holds whatever the road below is doing.

Most of the collections here are on Chit Lom Road, Phloen Chit Road, Lang Suan Road. The mix is 15 hotels, 9 condominiums, 2 serviced apartments, which is why the handoff differs from building to building — a hotel has a concierge, a condo has a lobby counter, and a serviced apartment usually has both.

Chit Lom is a shopping station. Central Chidlom is at the platform, Central Embassy is a covered walk east, and the Ratchaprasong skywalk runs west to Gaysorn, Erawan and CentralWorld without ever crossing a road — which in this heat is the whole reason the skywalk exists.

Sixteen of the 29 addresses here are inside 300 metres, the tightest cluster of any station on our map, because the buildings sit right against Phloen Chit Road and Chit Lom Road. Four of them are shopping malls rather than places to stay, which is unusual and says something about the block.

The Erawan Shrine at the junction is worth the two minutes: it is a working shrine in the middle of the retail district, busy with dancers and offerings at all hours. Langsuan runs south from here towards Lumphini Park and gets quiet surprisingly fast.
