The Residences at Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok are the long-stay half of the Kempinski property that opened in 2020 at the heart of Sindhorn Village. Guests get the hotel's service — the concierge, the restaurants, Sindhorn Wellness by Resense with its two floors of spa and its partly covered outdoor infinity pool — in an apartment with a kitchen and a sitting room rather than a hotel room.
The building itself is worth looking at. It is wrapped in board-formed concrete, with the grain of the timber shuttering left in the surface, and cut through with planted terraces, so the whole mass reads more like landscape than like a tower. Inside are Bistrot de la Mer, Firefly, and Loukjaan, the Royal Thai kitchen from the Michelin-starred Saneh Jaan.
What makes the address rare in central Bangkok is the greenery. Sindhorn Village replaced a large private plot with gardens rather than retail, and Lumphini Park is a short walk south — 140 rai of lake and lawn, busy from before dawn with runners and tai chi groups. Soi Ton Son and Langsuan hold the quieter, residential half of Pathum Wan, and BTS Ratchadamri and Chit Lom are both within walking distance.
A residence here is taken by the month, on a relocation or an extended visit, which is the point at which laundry becomes a weekly household job.
