Sivatel Bangkok is an all-suite boutique hotel at 53 Wireless Road, with 75 suites rather than the several hundred rooms of its neighbours. That difference in scale is the whole proposition: this is a small hotel on a street of large ones, close enough to BTS Phloen Chit that the station is a hundred and fifty metres from the door.
It is also one of the few Bangkok hotels that has taken sustainability past the towel card. Sivatel participates in the Green Leaf Foundation programme, which measures a property against its impact on the environment, the surrounding community, cultural heritage and the local economy, and the kitchen works from organic ingredients rather than advertising that it might. There is an infinity pool on the upper deck looking across the Ploenchit skyline, and a health club and spa.
The location is the quiet, green half of central Bangkok. Wireless Road takes its name from Thailand's first radio transmitters and is now the embassy street, lined with walled compounds and mature trees, which keeps the noise down. Lumphini Park is at the southern end. Central Embassy, Central Chidlom and Gaysorn are a few minutes north, and Rosewood Bangkok and Park Hyatt are immediate neighbours.
