Soi Nai Lert takes its name from Nai Lert, the Bangkok entrepreneur who built much of this area in the early twentieth century and whose family estate and celebrated garden are still at the top of the lane. It runs off the northern end of Wireless Road into a pocket of residential towers and small hotels, one street back from Ploenchit and correspondingly quieter.
For a visitor, the position is close to ideal. Central Embassy is a five-minute walk, Central Chidlom a little further, and the elevated skywalk from Phloen Chit station reaches Gaysorn Village, Gaysorn Amarin, CentralWorld and the Erawan Shrine without crossing a road. Sukhumvit's Nana and Asok are two and three stops east. Lumphini Park is at the far southern end of Wireless Road.
