lebua at State Tower occupies the upper floors of State Tower on Silom Road, and most visitors hear of it before they hear of the hotel. The Dome, the cluster of restaurants and bars on its top floors, holds Sirocco and Sky Bar — the open-air terrace 247 metres up on the 64th floor, under a lit golden dome, that appeared in The Hangover Part II and has been on every Bangkok rooftop list since. The bar still serves the Hangovertini it invented for the cast.
What that fame obscures is the hotel underneath: an all-suite property where the rooms are apartments with separate living areas and kitchenettes, built for stays longer than a night. The tower stands at the Silom end of Charoen Krung, so the view runs down the Chao Phraya in one direction and across the Silom business district in the other.
The position is genuinely convenient. BTS Saphan Taksin and the Sathorn pier are a short walk, which puts the Chao Phraya express boats, the hotel shuttles and the whole river within reach, and Silom, Sala Daeng and Lumphini Park are a few stops the other way. Assumption Cathedral, the old trading houses and Bang Rak's street food are on the doorstep.
A suite with a kitchen means a longer stay, and a longer stay means laundry.
