That absence is the point of Langsuan. The road runs from Ploenchit down to Lumphini Park, and along its length are embassies, apartment blocks, old trees and a scattering of independent cafes and restaurants that serve residents. It is one of the few streets in central Bangkok where walking is pleasant rather than a negotiation, and where the noise drops as soon as you turn off the main road.
For a visitor, the practical picture is good. BTS Ratchadamri is about 350 metres away; Central Chidlom, Central Embassy, Gaysorn and CentralWorld are within a ten-minute walk on the skywalk network; Lumphini Park is at the far end of the street, five minutes on foot, with its lake, morning runners and resident monitor lizards.
