Grand Lang Suan is a residential tower on Lang Suan Road, in the middle of the run between Ploenchit and Lumphini Park. Its neighbours give a fair picture of the block: Langsuan Ville is fifty metres away, Q Lang Suan the same, Centre Point Chidlom a hundred — a tight cluster of residential buildings on a street that has become one of the most sought-after addresses in Bangkok.
What draws people to Langsuan rather than to the main roads a few hundred metres away is that it stays a street rather than an artery. There are no malls on it. There are embassies, apartment towers, a line of mature trees, and a scattering of coffee shops and small restaurants that exist for the people who live there. At the southern end it opens onto Lumphini Park; at the northern end it meets Ploenchit and the Ratchaprasong shopping district.
BTS Ratchadamri is about 350 metres from the door, which puts Silom two stops south and Siam two stops west, and Central Chidlom and Central Embassy within a ten-minute walk. Thirty-six other addresses on our daily collection round lie within a 500-metre walk.
