The Quart is not a one-off stop for us: on the same round we also collect at Aspira Ruamrudee Residence (50 m), Sukhothai Residence Ruamrudee (250 m) and Conrad Bangkok (250 m). A van that is already on this street is the reason a same-day return is realistic here when the booking is confirmed before 2pm.

The Quart Ruamrudee stands on Soi Ruam Rudi, the lane that runs between Ploenchit and Wireless Road through the embassy quarter of Pathum Wan. It is an apartment-style property built for stays of a week or more, in a pocket where almost every neighbour is either a residence or a diplomatic compound: 12PM Bangkok is fifty metres away, Sukhothai Residence Ruamrudee and Conrad Bangkok about two hundred and fifty.
Ruam Rudi is one of the quieter successes of central Bangkok. There is no through traffic, so the street belongs to the people who live on it, and a row of small independent restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops has grown up around the residential blocks rather than around tourists. Walking it in the evening is a different experience from walking Sukhumvit.
BTS Phloen Chit is about 750 metres away — ten minutes at Bangkok pace — and from there Central Embassy, Central Chidlom, Gaysorn and CentralWorld are all reachable on the elevated skywalk without crossing a road. Lumphini Park lies at the southern end of Wireless Road. Twenty-seven other addresses on our daily round sit within a 500-metre walk.
