Pullman Bangkok Hotel G stands on Silom Road with 469 rooms and suites, all behind floor-to-ceiling glass — a tall, narrow tower whose whole design argument is the view out of it.
The best of that view is sold on the 37th floor. Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant runs a 120-square-metre terrace looking west across Silom toward the Chao Phraya, with a French-inspired menu of tapas, charcuterie and seafood by chef Sylvain Royer. It is one of the few rooftop bars in Bangkok where the food is the reason to go rather than an afterthought to the altitude.
Silom is the working half of central Bangkok — banks, offices, embassies — and the hotel sits in the middle of it, about five minutes from BTS Chong Nonsi. From there Sala Daeng and the MRT are one stop, Sathon and the river a short ride, and Siam three stops north. Patpong, Silom's street food and the night markets are on the doorstep, and Lumphini Park is at the eastern end of the road.
