BTS Ari sits in Ratchada–Rama 9–Huai Khwang, the area we work around Central Rama 9, the Thailand Cultural Centre and Huai Khwang. The Skytrain runs above the traffic, so a pickup window holds whatever the road below is doing.

Most of the collections here are on Soi Ari, Soi Ari 2, Soi Ari 4 (Nua). The mix is 9 condominiums, 4 serviced apartments, 3 hotels, which is why the handoff differs from building to building — a hotel has a concierge, a condo has a lobby counter, and a serviced apartment usually has both.

Ari is where Bangkok's own creative class settled, and it is the least touristed neighbourhood on our whole map that still fills up every weekend. Nine of the eighteen addresses here are condominiums and four are serviced apartments; only three are hotels.

That ratio is the neighbourhood in one line. Soi Ari and the numbered lanes off it hold coffee roasters, small restaurants, design studios and the kind of bar that has no sign, in among houses people actually live in. It is residential first and a destination second, which is unusual this close to the centre.
