Sindhorn Ton Son sits on Soi Ton Son, part of the family of Sindhorn properties that Siam Sindhorn has built across this corner of Pathum Wan — the same development group behind Sindhorn Kempinski, Sindhorn Midtown and Sindhorn Village a short walk away.
Soi Ton Son is the reason. It is a lane rather than a road: no through traffic, buildings set back behind walls, and a canopy of mature trees that most of Bangkok lost to development decades ago. Walking it at night, the noise of Ploenchit simply is not there. Yet BTS Ratchadamri is a short walk, Central Chidlom sits at the end of the street, and the elevated skywalk from Chit Lom reaches Gaysorn, CentralWorld, the Erawan Shrine and Central Embassy without a road crossing.
The other half of the appeal is Lumphini Park, a few minutes south — 140 rai of lake and lawn, busiest from before dawn with runners, tai chi groups and outdoor gyms. Between the park and the malls, Ton Son and Langsuan hold the cafes and small restaurants that serve the people who actually live in this district rather than the people passing through it.
Apartments on this soi are taken by the month rather than the night, usually on a posting or a long family visit, in units with kitchens and sitting rooms.
