BTS Siam sits in Siam–Pratunam–Ratchathewi, the area we work around Siam Paragon, Pratunam market and the Ratchathewi interchange. The Skytrain runs above the traffic, so a pickup window holds whatever the road below is doing.

Most of the collections here are on Siam Square Soi 7, Rama I Road, Lang Wat Pathum Wanaram Rd.. Every address here is the same kind of building, so the handoff is the same at each: leave the bag at the desk and it comes back there.

Siam is where the two BTS lines cross, which makes it the busiest station on the network and, oddly, one of the thinnest rounds we run — only seven addresses, because almost every plot around the interchange is retail rather than residential.

What is here instead is the largest concentration of shopping in Thailand: Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery and Siam Square One meet at the platform, MBK is one skywalk west, and CentralWorld is a covered walk east. Siam Square itself, the grid of small shops and tutoring schools behind the malls, is where Bangkok teenagers actually go.

For a guest the value is the interchange: from this platform most of the city is one train and no changes. Two of our seven addresses here are shopping malls rather than places to stay, which tells you what the block is made of.
