BTS Sala Daeng sits in Sathon–Silom–Surawong, the area we work around the Silom business district, Lumphini MRT and Patpong. The Skytrain runs above the traffic, so a pickup window holds whatever the road below is doing.

Most of the collections here are on Soi Si Lom 6, Convent Road, Surawong Road. The mix is 14 hotels, 5 hostels, 1 condominium, which is why the handoff differs from building to building — a hotel has a concierge, a condo has a lobby counter, and a serviced apartment usually has both.

Sala Daeng is the Silom interchange, sitting directly above MRT Si Lom, and the round here is defined by what happens after dark on one particular lane. Patpong's night market runs off Silom a few metres from the platform; Silom Soi 4 alongside it is the bar street; Convent Road behind is offices, schools and a hospital.
